Dear Friends and Supporters,

We welcome you to MEST Development Initiatives Ltd, a community focused and driven organisation that is a registered non-profit organization, limited by guarantee (Reg. No. 80020003835161). Established on 28 September 2022, we promote community development and improve livelihoods across Uganda.

Founded on the principles of Mentor, Excel, Sustain, Transform, MEST Development Initiatives Ltd focuses on empowering communities through mentorship, skills development and integrated support. Key focus areas include health, education, socio-economic empowerment, climate change, governance, advocacy, research and capacity building among others. MEST takes a holistic, community-centered approach to create lasting and sustainable impact, supporting community members to advance integrated development outcomes.

Driven by a multidisciplinary team of experienced HIV program managers, community development experts, and Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning (MEL) professionals, MEST, with multi sectoral partners continues to drive positive change in Uganda's development landscape.

MEST Development Initiatives Ltd is a registered non-profit organization (Reg. No. 80020003835161) established on 28 September 2022 to promote community development and improve livelihoods across Uganda.

Our name represents what we stand for:

Our interventions are grounded in participation, equity, and sustainability, working closely with communities in Uganda to create meaningful change.

Our Programs

Capacity Building

We deliver life skills training and other capacity-building initiatives, including mentorship and coaching, to strengthen individual and community resilience in health, livelihoods and over all well-being.

Community Engagement

We collaborate closely with communities to ensure local ownership and participation by empowering community resource persons like Village Health Teams and Expert Clients and by facilitating dialogues, barazas and debates that foster civic engagement, transparency and accountability.

Socio-economic Empowerment

We support economic resilience through community saving models such as Village Savings and Loan Associations (VSLA) and Co-save groups, enhancing financial literacy and entrepreneurship.

Health and Treatment Literacy

We engage community on health threatening diseases and implement treatment literacy programs to increase knowledge on disease management, adherence, and health rights, particularly in underserved populations.
